Are MLB switch hitters allowed to switch from left to right or visa versa in the same at-bat?
My Dad and I disagree. I say once a switch hitter walks up to the plate batting one way he has to stay that way for that at-bat. He says that he doesn’t think there are any rules restricting this. Rather than argue (since neither of us really know for sure) I thought I’d ask.

Father knows best. That jerk making the stupid political statement with his nickname, is also wrong on the rule. The batter may switch at any time, until the pitcher is ready to pitch.
6.02 (a) The batter shall take his position in the batter’s box promptly when it is his time at bat.
(b) The batter shall not leave his position in the batter’s box after the pitcher comes to Set Position, or starts his windup.
6.06 A batter is out for illegal action when-
(b) He steps from one batter’s box to the other while the pitcher is in position ready to pitch;
