Mlb Nl Standings

Do you think the MLB should add more teams?

I think that MLB does need two more teams. So that the NL and Al will have 16 teams each. They can split the divisions into 4 groups called Atlantic, Central, West, and South. The two places that MLB could expand is in Portland and Vancouver. Portland has a population around 590,000 and has a metro area around 2.2 million. Vancouver has a population around 580,000 and has a metro area around 2.1 million. I think this works because the Northwest does not have an influence in baseball. California has controled the West with 5 teams. This is what the standings would look like if you arrange the teams around.

Do you people like this? Any suggestions?

Well I like how much thought you’ve put into things but I don’t think you’re quite right on where teams should be located.

Should the MLB expand the league? It’s really hard to say yes when their World Series cannot even get higher ratings than an NFL regular season game. When more viewers are watching Jacksonville Jaguars play the Buffalo Bills instead of the World Series, your league needs to find a way to get more viewers. Is expanding the league the solution? Could be.

I do not see your point with Vancouver. Yes, the population is steady and stable but so is Tampa Bay and they have a very hard time selling tickets. The same also goes for those pesky Blue Jays. Take a look at how the MLB has fared in Canada. The Expos were awful, not just in talent but in fan support as well. They left the league under terrible circumstances. The Toronto Blue Jays are also a struggling franchise. They put things together and won a couple World Series titles but their attendance is horrible. They are the fifth from the bottom, only selling a hair over 20,000 tickets a game. What’s even worse is that they’re dead last in percentage of seats. Teams like Minnesota and Boston are selling over 100% capacity while Toronto is sitting at a mere 39.9%.

Portland is a better option but their fan base is still rather slim. If you’ve ever been to Oregon, you will quickly see that if it’s not the Oregon Ducks, nobody actually cares about it. If you’re looking for a West team, Las Vegas, Albuquerque and San Antonio show more promise.
