Mlb Humidors
Todd Helton, future Hall of Famer? or are his numbers tainted from the elevated numbers in Colorado before?
the humidor. In 12 seasons from 1997-2008, he has 1,900 hits, 462 doubles, 305 hr’s, 1,093 rbi’s and an awesome lifetime BA of .331. He’s 34, and I assume if he plays another 6 or 7 years he will get to 3,000 hits. Hall of Famer?

Finally, an excellent question here.
Helton is a very interesting case. He’s played in that ballpark all his career but has put up numbers you’re supposed to get there. Personally, I hate it when people say “if you play in that park, you can’t be in the Hall or your stats can’t be taken seriously.” If that is so, then don’t have a Major Leauge team there. Either’s it’s a Major League park or it’s not. There are no qualifiers.
With that said, I think he needs to play at least five more seasons, if he can get close to 3000 hits, he will definitely get major consideration. If he actually does get 3000, he’ll be a first ballot. He’s a great hitter who is due more recognition. I believe right now he has the highest batting average of any active Major Leaguer. Ask this question again in two years and let’s see where he is.
