Is there a rule, (please cite MLB rule number) regarding the use of safety equipment such as shin protectors?
The shin protector used by batters to prevent fouled balls from hitting and harming their ankles, insteps and shins are specifically what I am interesting in knowing about. If you are not playing catcher, say third base, is it authorized equipment to use?
There is no “rule” or “rules” that mandate that you have to use them other than the helmet.
