Here are the rosters for the American and National League for 2008?
Go to this address, http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/all_star/y2008/roster_league.jsp , they have the rosters for both the American and National Leagues, and they have the starting line-up, and the reserves for this time, along with now the players that are up for the final roster spot in both leagues have been named. Are there any players that you are surpised that they made it to the All-star game? Are there players that you believe to be deserving to make it to the all-star game, but didn’t? Are there any players, and hey pitchers count too, that have made it to the All-star game that you don’t think they deserve to be there, tell me your pics for any or even all these questions, and why, or why not?
yes and no.
I don’t think Derek Jeter should be there.Why?Just watch a Yankees game and you’ll find out why.I also don’t think Alfonso Soriano should play OF for the NL.He has a horrible throwing arm,almost just as bad as his defensive replacement Eric Patterson’s.I am surprised that Brian McCann is a reserve and not a starter,although I gotta admit that Geovany Soto is playing very well this season as a rookie,so he deserves to be there I guess.Same with Aramis Ramirez,although Chipper has proved to be a good third baseman offensively,so that’s kool.I’m also surprised that one of the games best,Albert Pujols,is not starting at first and Lance Berkman is! Sure,he did have that amazing hitting streak going on earlier this season, but there is no doubt that Pujols is the better overall first baseman.Everything else makes sense,but it still bothers me that Jermaine Dye,Carlos Quentin,and Joe Crede aren’t starting at their positions.I’m not playing favorites,I mean just look at what they’ve done on the field (especially Dye) and you would wonder too why he isn’t starting.
