Mlb Coaches

Why do MLB teams have managers while NBA/NFL teams have coaches?
This thought just occurred to me while I was watching baseball over the weekend and I wondered if there’s some historical explanation/reason for the distinction? Thanks for any help you can provide!
Because of what they do. Managers very rarely talk to the players or tell them what to do during a game. They manage the game or control it. They decide when the pitcher comes and goes and when a batter bunts. But they don’t coach the player in the sense that they do not say “Throw it to first!”
A coach on the other hand does tell players what to do during the game. For example, coaches in basketball yell constantly at there players and call time outs to give them a play. Same in Football. In baseball, the third base coach tells them when to run home or wait at third.
It all depends on the task that they perform.
