mlb closer watch
Is it time for MLB to permanently ban those pink bats once and for all?

There is no point in having them. They’ve done this for a few years and we are no closer to curing breast cancer. All the pink bats do is distract everyone and ruin the games’ decorum. They look like something a AAA team might give away at the gate as part of a promotion.

And if MLB was that serious about curing breast cancer then they would always use the pink bats for every game. At least that way people would eventually get used to them and they wouldn’t keep jumping out at you when you’re trying to watch a game.

So what do you think? Are pink bats just an ineffective and empty gesture by MLB that does nothing except annoy everyone? Should the pink bats be banned and never allowed again?

Really? Pink bats?

Is that really something that you think is a problem? If so, you probably need to reassess your priorities.

Of course the pink bats haven’t cured cancer. But what harm is there in letting MLB players express solidarity with cancer survivors one freakin’ day per year?

By the way, there is a practical purpose to the bats. In addition to the fact that they probably remind a few people to donate to cancer research, the players autograph them and sell them after the games, with the proceeds going to charity.

When you criticize the pink bats, you come off as a petty misanthrope. I think you might want to reconsider.
