On the mlb website when you access the current standings there is a column that that says X W-L. What is that?
mlb- Major League Baseball
X W-L = expected win-loss record. It’s a formula based upon total runs scored and total runs allowed.
RS^1.82/((RS^1.82) + (RA^1.82)) = expected winning percentage
If the X W-L is less than the actual W-L, then the team has been lucky and winning more games than they should. If the X W-L is more than the actual W-L, then the team has been underachieving.
