Mlb Baseball Schedule 2012
What would happen if someone (particularly, I) was willing to attempt a large, baseball trip for the ages?
My dream (for awhile has been to visit all the MLB ballparks) now (especially since all are visiting in various ways: by car, by plane, by bike, etc..) is to hit every ballpark in as little number of days possible. Could I hit every ballpark within a 3 week time (21 days) frame or shorter? I will not attempt this until next year.. (weigh my options) Look at the 2012 MLB schedule and the flights available (by the way, when is the 2012 MLB schedule going to be released) and see if it can be done! Is there any baseball fanatic, just like me, willing to do this along with me?
Wow, that sounds like fun. I too have a goal of seeing all 30, but I’m just doing 2 or 3 per year. I hope to be done by 2020.
I don’t think you can do it in 21 days, though. Since there are 30 parks, you’ll probably have trouble doing this in less than a month. Yes, I know you can in theory hit two parks in one day in some places, but you’ll have to get really lucky with scheduling (for example, if you’re in Chicago, you’d better hope the Cubs and Sox don’t both have day games). Also, you’ll need some traveling time for some of them. You can get from Philly to Baltimore in a couple of hours, but Phoenix is pretty far away from any other teams, and so is Seattle. Even if you are able to squeeze 30 parks into 21 days, you won’t have a lot of time to relax and enjoy yourself.
The MLB schedule is usually released in the fall. I think you’ll be able to check it out in September, though it doesn’t have the game times right away. Make sure you plan some time to research the schedule! Even if you allow yourself a whole month, it’ll take some incredible planning to fit them all in.
Also, make sure you have enough money to do this! Off the top of my head, I’d say you’ll need at least $10,000 to pay for airfare, car rentals, game tickets, food, souvenirs, and hotel costs. I’d love to join you, but I don’t think I could get the time off work or the money….
