Mlb Baseball Games Schedule
When the baseball game played till 1:30am in the morning, what do you think about that?
Last night, the ALCS game 2 started 8:07 pm EDT, it was not finished till the next day 1:30am in the morning. (5 hours 27 min long). Why do MLB arrange such weird schedule? There was a whole day to play a game, why starting at 8:07 pm East coast time?
It’s kind of hard to expect players have their best performance escpeically when they have to play a good ball game at the “Bed time”, isn’t it? 1:30 am…most people are asleep already.
Game 2 went into extra innings — which inevitably makes it play quite long. There’s nothing to be done there.
It’s a Red Sox game, and they are notoriously patient.
But, to the point, teevee dictates the start time, not MLB. Fox or TBS hands over huge checks, MLB takes them, and lets them do whatever they want. (Ever notice that ad breaks are LONGER in the postseason? True. The one factor over which the tv nets have complete control, and they commit the one action which makes games last that much longer. Regular season 2:05, postseason at least 2:45. It adds up. Plus there are, since 2007, extra off days that really are not necessary, except that tv wants them. Remember, anyone in network television has a flatline EEG, and they’re the only ones who don’t know it.)
