Let’s all say something nice about Tom Glavine?
This is guy is going to become the 23rd pitcher with 300 wins. He’s 23 on the All-Time wins list, a 10-time All-Star, 2-time Cy Young Award winner, 1995 World Series MVP, 4 time Silver Slugger Award winner, and led the National League in wins 5 times. He was also on the same pitching staff as Greg Maddux and John Smoltz. Yet, why don’t people talk about Tom Glavine, as he approaches 300 wins? Because everyone is so wrapped up in homeruns (Bonds and Rodriguez). Let’s give him the credit he deserves and say something nice about Tom Glavine!

Class act all the way – that’s exactly why you don’t hear much about him. He shows up, does his job, doesn’t complain in the press about his manager or teammates, and is now on the verge of breaking a great milestone. Although over the years he’s killed my beloved Cubs, I appreciate him as a pitcher, as a competitor, and especially as a man. It’s unfortunate that right now the press is too busy paying attention to one athlete that abuses drugs and one that abuses animals to take notice of him.
