little league baseball age
How do I train to become a pitcher?

Well, I played baseball around the age of eight, little league, and played roughly 4-5 years, and stopped. Now that I am a junior in high school, I believe I want to start the sport back up again. I pitched for my little league, but after all the time off, I am a little rusty, and need some work. How can I train for high school pitching?

You have to do drills. For my Showcase baseball team on our Optional practices, the pitchers run 2 miles a day at practice do rubber band work for around 30-45 mins. Long Toss for around 20 mins, then we throw our change-ups at about 90 feet, Curveballs at around 60 feet. Then we do drills.
1. Step up in your stretch pitching position, hop putting weight on your back foot and push off of the foot and throw. It teaches pushing off and using your whole body.
2. Set up in either the stretch or wind-up. When you reach your balance position, go up 3 times then pitch. Teaches balance and keeps your focused on the target.
Other drills you can learn and do.
Long toss=More Velocity
Develop atleast 2-3 good off speed pitches to keep good and bad hitters off balance.
RUN A LOT it will save your arm in the long run, by saving it from a possible blood clot will be great.
Just Practice, possibly get a pitching coach to help you with it.
Good Luck.
