Does Telemundo have an exclusive contract for FIFA World Cup Soccer?
I have a friend who only speaks Spanish. We watch the FIFA World Cup Soccer games on Telemundo (recently watched Mexico vs Canada). I know nothing about soccer (sorry, but I’m trying to learn and unfortunately my Spanish isn’t that great either – so imagine me trying to learn via Telemundo). But I do know that networks can buy contracts for certain sports. Such as Fox buying the rights to televise the World Series. Why am I asking? I’m thinking of changing cable services and the new cable company doesn’t have Telemundo. My friend definitely wants to watch any games with El Salvador so I need to make sure I have the correct Spanish sports channels.
Well, first of all, the spanish networks Univision or Telemundo usually show the games when ever the mexican team plays, the reason behind it, i really don’t know. I guess they know they are going to get high ratings, because of the heavy mexican population in the US. Second of all if you live in the US, no matter what cable services to subscribe to, Telemundo should be included, since it is a local channel.
