What do you think of TNA trying to make money off CM Punk?
TNA is looking to capitalize on the current popularity of C.M. Punk by offering video of his 2003 and 2004 matches from TNA’s Wednesday Night PPV era.
A banner on TNA’s website reads, “C.M. Punk Is Coming,” with a mid-2000s graphic of Punk posing with his arms crossed in front of his chest.
TNA says they will be offering Punk’s TNA matches as part of a new “TNA Archives” Superstars Series on TNAOnDemand.com, which is the promotion’s online video service.
The video list includes C.M. Punk in matches with Abyss, Raven, Terry Funk, Sabu, and Shane Douglas. The videos will be released next Thursday, August 4.
Punk’s brief and rocky TNA run ended in spring 2004 prior to TNA launching its first weekly TV show on Fox Sports Net. Punk got into an altercation with Teddy Hart in February 2004, then left the company shortly thereafter when TNA disallowed wrestlers from appearing on ROH shows.
I think it’s cheap on TNA’s part because there trying to make money off of a superstar who was in their company for a short time and now he’s famous TNA Doesn’t want to miss this opportunity to make some extra cash which in my opinion is very unprofessional for TNA to do.
