2008 Arkansas Travelers – The worst baseball team ever to win a league championship?
Thanks to the two-half season standings in the Texas League, The Arkansas Travelers made the playoffs by winning the North Divsion first half with mediocre 36-34 record. They then went 26-44 in the second half for a combines 62-78 record on the season. They defeated NW Arkansas in the division series and Frisco in the Texas League Championship series to win the league title. Has there been a team with a worse winning percentage in the regular season to win a league title in professional baseball?
It’s stupid that they won. I saw them in game 4 of the championship series. I’d say however that their management was well. The reason for the fall off at the second half was because of call ups. So, no their not the worst team to win a championship, they do their job. But as a Rider’s fan I’m angry, disappointed, and alone.
