Baseball Spring Training Begins
Is there ever really a “right” time?
I recently broke up with my girlfriend mainly due to timing. I play professional baseball and I had an injury last season that resulted in major elbow reconstruction surgery. I am about a week away from playing competitively again and I will be leaving where I am now to rejoin my team. She is a semester away from her college degree and will be very busy in the fall while I will be playing baseball in a winter league in Latin America. She really is a great girl, but I need to use these next few months to reestablish my reputation in my profession. The next time I could conceivably spend any quality amount of time with her would be next October (2009). She will be looking for a job in January and spring training begins in February. Do I dare ask her to wait for me? I hate long distance relationships. Are we just doomed by bad timing?
kinda sorta. i don’t believe long distance relationships are realistic when people expect each other to have Zero relations with the opposite sex. bottom line is u are both young and although it seems like the end of the world better to end it under these circumstances and stay in touch, be friends and possibly revisit a year or two from now, than to fight against such great odds and possibly have the friendship loss tryin to fulfill unrealistic expectations. Good Luck dude. besides i hear there are plenty of groupies in these small towns for u minor leaguers.
