Baseball Salaries In 1970

If the maximum MLB annual salary was 1 million would players accept it over getting a real job?
I know in the early 1970′s the average salary was probably 10 grand now it is over 1 million.
But if the Max salary was 1 million would the players be playing baseball or looking for other jobs?
I don’t think A-rod would make 1 million working at wal-mart as a cart attendant..
Seeing as most players make 500k to 2 million annually I’d say they’d be fine with it.
