Baseball Cards Flipping

Why doesn’t MLB add another wild card team to the playoffs. It is so hard to make the playoffs in baseball.

On the flip side the NBA and NHL teams have it to easy, half teams make the playoffs. I think the NFL has it right with two wildcard teams.

It’s supposed to be hard to get to post-season in any sport. Baseball has already gone too far in allowing a wild card team. You ought to have to WIN something in order to go forwards, and a wild card team hasn’t won a thing. A wild card is a consolation prize.

Post season should belong to the division winners only. In each league, give the division winner with the best overall record a first-round bye, while the others play three games for the right to face the best in their league for a best-of-5 LCS. Do it with no off days in either the best of 3 or the best of 5 series, but with an off day in between. Then, bring on the other league.

Just because other sports allow everyone and his uncle into post-season play doesn’t make it right. It makes it money grab. A couple of years ago, the Celtics made it into the NBA post-season with a LOSING record. How does anyone justify a system that allows for that? And hockey? They let so many teams in the the teams going to the finals get all of 3 months of an off-season. How do you recover and get ready for the next season in just 3 months?
