How Can I Play Cricket in America?
I’m an 18 year old American male, and I’ve recently become interested in cricket. I’ve entertained the idea of perhaps playing, but I don’t know where cricket is played in America, or the level of competition to expect. I’ve never played cricket before (or baseball, for that matter, although I played tennis for 5 years, for what it’s worth ((if anything))) and I don’t know anyone else who plays or even follows cricket. I am wondering to what extent cricket is played here in the States and whether it would be rewarding for me to pursue it or not. Ideally, I would like to attain a level of competition higher than simply some casual rec. league. I’m only 18 and I don’t believe that I’m too old to start a new sport. I live in Texas.
I am also wondering how easy it is to learn how to physically play the game (I’m pretty familiar with the strategy and general gameplay), batting and bowling, and the best ways to learn quickly.
