2009 Mlb Interleague Records
What do you think about Interleague Play and the format of the All-Star Game. He is my proposal.?
I think beginning in 2009, MLB should cut out Interleague play because it takes away the excitment of the World Series. The All-Star Game should not count in determing the World Series. The team with the best record should have home-field advantage in the world series. There should be only four divisions, AL EAST AL WEST, NL EAST NL WEST and there should be 8 playoff teams and have a similar format like basketball. Have the season start next to last Monday in March and end the next to last Sunday in September, so there will be more playoff action and cut back on spring training. What do you think of this proposal?
I agree on interleague play – not only does it take away from the world series but it cuts into the games played against their own league. It was exciting for a while but now it’s old hat.
There is no way that the all-star game should be linked to the WS. I agree that the team with the better record should have home field, just like in every other sport.
I’d keep three divisions and a wild-card. It seems to work OK. I like having 6 division races and a race for best second-place finish. If by 8 teams in four divisions you mean that every second place team is an automatic playoff team, I don’t like that. I also wouldn’t want to reward top two non-division champs because that could mean a third place team could get in from one division. I like more emphasis on winning a division in a 162 game season.
