Best Homerun Milestone Season Ever for MLB?
In 2007 we could have Barry Bonds be the new all-time career HR leader. Sosa has hit his 600th HR and Griffey has a shot at reaching 600 as well. Frank Thomas has hit #500 and Gary Sheffield, Jim Thome, Manny Rameriz and A-Rod all have a good shot at reaching 500 HR this season. Also, each league should have HR leader with 50+ HR. Has there ever been a season like this for milestones for homeruns?
This might be the best milestone season, period. On top of the home run milestones, you also have Biggio getting his 3000th hit, Glavine’s 2 wins away from 300 wins, and Pedro (who should return next month or so) is 2 strikeouts away from 3000 Ks.
